WHAT STUDENTS SAY

THE 2011 QUESTIONNAIRE

On the last day of class, all students in London were given a questionnaire that solicited comments.  Students were given the option of signing the comments or remaining anonymous.  Some typical responses are shown below.

Heather Duhon, Southern University, writes:
I liked the time of the classes.  You would finish early and explore the rest of London.  Extended weekends were amazing for exploring Europe.  I am so glad I chose to attend this program.  I have had experiences I would never have had a chance to ever have.  This program was a wonderful opportunity.
Shanisha Smith, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, writes:
The Southern University Law Center summer abroad program provided an opportunity that I could never have imagined.  It expanded my knowledge of international affairs and created a passion to work in international criminal law and the International Criminal Court!  Great experience!
Kristi Julien, Southern University, writes:

Being able to sit and chat with a member of Parliament was a great privilege!  I really enjoyed my time and experiences here and would never have been able to to this - to live and "work" in a different country - after graduation.  AWESOME!
Christina Brown, Southern University, writes:

I liked that I was able to travel to different countries.  It is good that you are able to take a required course while abroad.
Trenika Fields, Southern University, writes:

The thing I liked most about the program is that we were able to have access to places most people, including citizens of the U.K., are not able to enter, such as the Parliament and Lloyd's of London.
Cathryn Gits, Southern University, writes:

I really enjoyed the Welcome to London pub party.  I loved the accommodations and school.  It was amazing to be located in central London and have the opportunity to hop on the tube or walk anywhere in London.
Joy Kamani, Thurgood Marshall School of Law,, writes:
This was a great opportunity, one that all students, not just law students, should partake in.  The courses were excellent.  Professor Franks's past experiences brought great interest and explanation to Private International Law.  The opportunity to visit the International Criminal Court at The Hague and relate it to the International Criminal Law course was very beneficial.
NeShira Millender, Southern University, writes:

I really liked the trips to the Royal Courts of Justice and Parliament.  It made the program very relevant to our legal studies.  The program was a wonderful experience and really broadened my horizons in where I would like to take my legal career.
Willie Saltz, Southern University, writes:

Best summer of my life.  Made lifelong friends and am so excited I came.  The afternoons are all free, and with long weekends you can do whatever you want in free time.
Lacresha Wilkerson, Southern University, writes:

Amazing experience.  It is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to five countries within a six-week time frame.
Ashley Ogbonna, Southern University, writes:

Studying abroad should be a prerequisite.  The experience allows you to see the world on a larger scale, widening your perspective on issues we face every day.  The professors could not have done more.
Chase Manuel, Southern University, writes:
The program allowed me to do the things around London that not many people get to do while just visiting.
Cherita R. McNeal, Southern University, writes:

The opportunity to study in one of the biggest cities in the world is once in a lifetime.
